Manchester City intend to open negotiations to renew the contract of its English player Phil Foden, who is now entering the last 18 months of his contract with the team at the Etihad Stadium.
Foden suffered a decline in form last season after being crowned the Best Player in the English Premier League for the 2023/2024 season, but he has regained his form this season and contributed significantly to the team's performance.
So far, the 25-year-old player has scored four goals and provided three assists in 14 matches across all competitions. He also received a new call-up to the English national team during the recent international break.
The same source confirmed that Manchester City's management seeks to ensure Foden's continued presence within the team's long-term plan, as the player represents one of the fundamental pillars of the squad in the coming years.
