Estanis Pedrola, a 19-year-old pacey winger, is on his way to Sampdoria. The Genoese club will initially loan Pedrola, but will be required to pay a €3 million fee at the end of the loan next summer. Barcelona will then retain a portion of any future sales, which Fabrizio Romano estimates to be 50%. They will also have the option to repurchase him for about €7 million until the summer of 2025.
This will provide some relief to Barcelona. Even if they believe Pedrola can be sold for greater than €7 million after two seasons in Serie B, they will have enough power to bring him back in and sell him for a profit. Pedrola, a big, intimidating winger, shined last season at Barca Atletic, scoring 8 goals in 21 league games. His speed and ability to go past defenders might make him a productive striker in Serie B, and he can be particularly lethal if given time to settle.
