With less than two months until Spain's transfer market opens, Barcelona has already essentially secured their first summer acquisition. Guido Rodriguez will commit for the upcoming two seasons, with an option for a third, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Oriol Romeu, who joined Barcelona from Girona last summer and has struggled greatly in his first season, will be replaced by Rodriguez. After just one season, it is anticipated that he would be traded, with Rodriguez taking his place in Xavi Hernandez's team.
Rodriguez and Barcelona have established a pre-contract agreement, according to Fabrizio Romano. If there is enough room in their salary limit for him to be registered, he will join them as a player in the summer. Rodriguez's entrance at Barcelona is accepted by Xavi, and it is hoped that he won't be the only pivot to join in the summer.
