Barcelona have opted to loan out 19-year-old Brazilian forward Vitor Roque for the upcoming season, despite a significant offer from Sporting CP for his permanent transfer. According to Marca, Barcelona have turned down Sporting’s proposal, which included a €20 million fee plus over €10 million in performance-related bonuses. Instead, they are finalizing a loan agreement with Real Betis for Roque.
The decision to loan out Roque, rather than accept a permanent sale, stems from internal discussions within Barcelona about his future potential. While the offer from Sporting was substantial, Barcelona believes Roque has the capability to become a key player for them eventually. By loaning him to Betis, Barcelona hopes Roque can develop further and enhance his value, preserving their control over his long-term future. Reports suggest that Betis might have an option to buy a portion of Roque’s rights, valued between €15-20 million, adding another layer to the deal’s complexity.
