Bayern Munich missed the summer transfer window to capture an Italian talent

In the summer, Bayern Munich sought to bolster their offensive line with two new additions. At the beginning of the summer, they managed to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace, but the second signing never materialized. Bayern attempted to recruit Désiré Doué and Xavi Simons, but for various reasons were unable to finalize agreements with the two players.

Die Roten received offers from intermediaries for a number of players over the summer. Bayern reportedly turned down the chance to sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus before the Italian forward finalized a transfer to Liverpool. The Italian striker has been connected to a transfer to Bavaria several times over the last few years, but it could have happened this summer. Bayern desired to bolster their lineup with young wingers or attacking midfield players. This is why Die Roten declined to sign Chiesa; he did not meet their requirements.
