Bundesliga leaders Bayern defeated St. Pauli thanks to a Sane double

Leroy Sane of Bayern Munich scored twice in the second half as the Bundesliga leaders had to put in a lot of effort to defeat St Pauli 3-2 to keep their six-point lead at the top heading into the final seven matchdays. Bayern has 65 points and will play Inter Milan in their Champions League quarterfinal first leg on April 8. Bayer Leverkusen, in second place, defeated VfL Bochum 3-1 at home on Friday, April 59.

However, defender Hiroki Ito, who entered the game in the 58th minute, suffered a foot injury late in the match, which was terrible news for the league leaders. The Japan defender had just recovered from a July break to the same foot. Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies, two defenders for Bayern, are already out due to injury. Harry Kane's tap-in from a cross by Michael Olise gave the home team the lead in the seventeenth minute.
