Chelsea are preparing a January move for Mike Maignan

Journalist Graeme Bailey reports that Chelsea are preparing a January move for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, with hopes of securing a pre-contract agreement. The Frenchman impressed last season, making 53 appearances, conceding 59 goals, and recording 15 clean sheets across competitions. Over the years, Maignan has established himself as one of Serie A’s standout keepers, combining sharp reflexes with strong handling and composure under pressure.

At 30, he brings both experience and reliability, qualities Chelsea are eager to add between the posts. His contract at San Siro expires at the end of this campaign, giving the Blues an opening to act quickly this winter. If they succeed, Maignan could prove a safe, consistent presence in goal for Stamford Bridge, offering stability and confidence at the back as the club looks to rebuild.
