Chelsea defeated Atletico Madrid in Champions League

Chelsea cruised to quarter-finals in Champions League after ensuring a 3-0 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid and Thomas Tuchel celebrated the fact that the team advanced ahead with a clean win over Atletico at Stamford Bridge. And beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the second leg after 1-0 finish in the first leg. Hakim Ziyech and Emerson Palmieri scored the winner for Tuchel’s side on either side of the half with Chelsea in a defensive five-back formation against the Spanish leaders.

Other players that made a mark during the match were Reece James who played his part well as a right wing-back and Marcos Alonso who replaced Ben Chilwell on the squad excelled in his part. N’Golo Kante guarded well as well and thawed any attempts by Atletico at scoring, that is when they made it past Chelsea’s expert defense.
