Chelsea's 5-0 thumping of West Ham

Chelsea's 5-0 thumping of West Ham at Stamford Bridge propelled them over Manchester United into seventh place in the Premier League. The Blues destroyed The Hammers to increase their chances of winning European football by riding high on their thrilling victory against Tottenham the previous time out.

Cole Palmer's cool-headed goal in the fifteenth minute set the ball rolling, and goals from Conor Gallagher and Noni Madueke made it 3-0 at the break. The Blues finished off a fantastic effort as Nicolas Jackson added a fourth goal soon after the half and then finished his brace after a VAR check. In an otherwise appalling performance, Jarrod Bowen struck the crossbar three times. As a result, the visitors' winless streak will now surpass a month and they will no longer be able to qualify for Europe.
