Diogo Dalot leaves fans unconvinced after failed Man Utd audition vs Villarreal

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's unavailability for Wednesday's match against Villarreal appeared good news for Diogo Dalot who would finally be given his chance in an important tie for Manchester United.

But after a poor first-half display, things went from bad to worse for the right-back as he was at fault for Villarreal's goal.

Wan-Bissaka was not available for selection as he is serving the first of his two-match ban after his red card against BSC Young Boys. The Englishman has been under unfair criticism in recent weeks, but United will have sorely missed him in that tie as Dalot has been underwhelming, to say the least.

Ronaldo's winning goal will be the main focus and rightly so, but Dalot must ensure a huge step up in his next appearance.
