As Donny van de Beek bids Manchester United farewell, Bruno Fernandes has written a moving ode to the Dutch star.
Van van Beek, who cost a whopping £35 million to transfer from Ajax to Old Trafford in 2020, was a disappointment at the Theatre of Dreams, making just 62 appearances in four lackluster years. The departure of the Dutch international marks United's first major summertime move as they prepare to let go of more players under the direction of new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, sporting director Dan Ashworth, and technical director Jason Wilcox. The 27-year-old midfielder is ready to make his La Liga debut at Girona after spending seasons on loan at Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt. The move is reportedly going to cost the Spanish team a starting point of £420,000, with the possibility of it going up to £12.7m.
