Borussia Dortmund are once again looking to South America in search of the next wave of young talent. According to Sky Sport, the Bundesliga club has sent scouts to monitor 17-year-olds Kaua Prates of Cruzeiro and Juan Cruz Meza of River Plate. Both players have impressed with their maturity and skill despite their age. Prates, a left-back, has already broken into Cruzeiro’s first team, logging nearly 500 minutes in Brazil’s Serie A.
Meza, an attacking midfielder, has shone for River Plate’s reserves with his creativity and versatility. Dortmund’s scouting team has made multiple visits, signalling strong interest. Known for spotting global prospects like Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham, the club could move quickly, though Prates’ €30 million release clause may prove a hurdle.
