Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 Defeat To Napoli

The Eagles had no chance against Napoli after losing the first game 2-0 at home and without ace striker Randal Kolo Muani. Napoli, one of the best teams in Europe, won the game 3-0 with goals from Victor Osimhen (at 45 and 53 seconds) and Piotr Zielinski (at the 64-second penalty). Outside the stadium, fighting between Napoli fans and a small number of Frankfurt supporters marred the game.

The unsettling incidents in the city centre will overshadow Frankfurt's spectacular two seasons in Europe. By winning the Europa League the previous year, Eintracht gained entry to the Champions League and earned almost $50 million by taking part in Europe's premier competition this year. It was already an outstanding accomplishment for Frankfurt to advance to the round of 16 after being drawn into a challenging group with Tottenham, Olympique Marseille, and Sporting.
