EPL: Tottenham yet confirmed Kane suffering of a significant ankle injury

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane sustained an injury during his side's Champions League tie with Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on last Tuesday night, which has been soon diagnosed as ankle ligament damage.

The injury came after Kane attempted to tackle City's auxiliary left-back Fabian Delph, forcing the England captain to hobble down the tunnel and back to the dressing room. He left the stadium on crutches.

"Following assessment over the past two days, we can yet confirm that Harry Kane has sustained a significant lateral ligament injury to his left ankle following a challenge in our Champions League quarter-final, first-leg win against Manchester City," Spurs' statement repeated again.

"Investigations are ongoing and he will continue to be assessed by our medical staff over the coming week". Tottenham have not yet provided his timeline for a possible return.
