The Argentine’s previous deal was set to expire in 2028, but considering the recent upheaval at the BayArena, Leverkusen have been able to tire down a player who will be a key piece for them going forward.
On extending his contract, Palacios said: “Bayer 04 have gone through a breathtaking development since I arrived in Germany five years ago. It’s a great feeling to have been an important part of this process. I’m really looking forward to the time ahead with Bayer 04.”
The Argentine joined Leverkusen in 2020 from his native River Plate for €17m and was more or less a hit as soon as he arrived.
