During the pre-season friendly match against Villarreal on Wednesday, Wesley Fofana had to leave the pitch on a stretcher after a horrendous tackle by opposition striker Fer Nino. The Foxes won the game 3-2 after that but it costed them a good defender off the team even before the season has kicked off. Nino won the ball from Wesley but then he entangled his leg with the defender which has cost him a fractured fibula. Nino somehow escaped and did not get a red card for his challenge and later he scored a goal for Villarreal.
Wesley’s recovery time will depend on the injury’s further damage to his leg but a normal fibula fracture takes around 3 months to recover. Wesley posted on his social media handles, thanking all the messages he received from his concerned fans. Fofana said that he is a warrior and he will back in no time, stronger than ever.
