Frimpong to stay at Leverkusen or not?

Jeremie Frimpong put himself in the spotlight last season with consistently strong performances for Bayer Leverkusen. Several clubs are believed to be interested in the Dutchman, including Hansi Flick's FC Barcelona, and it seems they will have to hurry if they want to sign him before his release clause expires.

At least according to Bild, Frimpong's release clause - set at €40-45 million - expires next week.

That means Leverkusen will be free to negotiate a fee after that point, which would likely make him much more expensive.

When asked in May whether he would continue to play for Leverkusen next season, Frimpong was coy.
