Arsenal is set to strengthen their coaching team with the addition of former Argentina international defender Gabriel Heinze.
According to sources, Heinze’s appointment follows the departure of Spaniard Carlos Cuesta, who left Arsenal to take charge of Parma.
The 47-year-old boasts solid managerial experience. Since retiring in 2014, he has helmed clubs like Argentina’s Godoy Cruz, Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United, and Newell’s Old Boys—the very club where he began his playing career. Heinze’s most recent role was as Newell’s head coach, a position he vacated in November 2023.
At Arsenal, Heinze will join a backroom staff that already includes Albert Stuivenberg (assistant coach), Nico Yover (set-piece coach), and Iñaki Cana (goalkeeping coach), all of whom have been with the club since 2021.
