Giggs is happy for Mata's new role under Mourinho

How things can change just overnight, for Juan Mata this is exactly how things went down: first he was completely tossed off Chelsea by Jose Mourinho because he didn't fit his tactical methods. But Mata had the last word because after a couple seasons at United, it was Mourinho the outsider who came in and completely changed his views about the Spaniard. Now that everything has changed, it's Mata the one player who Mourinho relies on the most and both couldn't be happier.

Former United player and club legend Ryan Giggs took some time to analyze this change of heart Mourinho had as he told Sky Sports about the various changes Mourinho has made in his very own style and how much Juan Mata has been transformed into one of Jose's must trusted players: "I think he has, and rightly so. He is a very good player and a brilliant professional.

"The key to Juan being effective is getting the legs around him. He has a footballing brain and when you have Antonio Valencia overlapping, Marcus Rashford in the channels, the energy of Ander Herrera and the power of Paul Pogba, then it makes it easier for him because he doesn't have to do the running, which he can do. His number one position is number 10, but he's done it [played wide] for so long. He played off the right for Chelsea."
