In the summer transfer window of 2025, Girona is rumored to be interested in signing 25-year-old Spanish goalkeeper Inaki Pena from Barcelona. The Spanish goalie has put up a number of strong displays. Pena has made 13 appearances so far this season, giving up 12 goals and maintaining six clean sheets.
A number of renowned teams around Europe have taken notice of the goalie's development in the meantime. Inaki Pena has reportedly been connected to major European teams including Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. However, Girona is eager to capture the Barcelona academy graduate during the 2025 summer transfer window, so a move across La Liga may be in the cards for the player. It makes sense that Girona would be interested in Inaki Pena. Given that Pau Lopez hasn't played since joining on loan from Marseille during the summer transfer window, the Catalan team may want to add a goalkeeper.
