Viktor Gyokeres' transfer to Arsenal might have aided Manchester United's attempts to sign Morten Hjulmand. The Swedish striker, who played for Sporting CP under Ruben Amorim before joining Arsenal, has been heavily linked to United. According to Italian media, the Red Devils are interested in Hjulmand, a midfielder for Sporting who is also coveted by Juventus. Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Turin giants are prepared to offer Douglas Luiz as part of a trade transaction, with Juve paying an extra price, as opposed to making an outright buy.
However, Luiz's salary, which is estimated to be approximately £4.3 million annually and significantly higher than Sporting's current wage structure, is going to make that strategy more difficult. Juventus may still try their luck, but according to O Jogo, this will make any conceivable trade deal all but impossible to finalise.
