Injury rules Emmanuel Boateng out of Black Stars AFCON qualifier

Striker Emmanuel Boateng has been excluded from the Black Stars team for next Month’s Cup of Nations qualifier due to injury.

The attacker recently recovered from a setback and has been working out to return to the pitch.

Boateng suffered an injury during Levante’s preseason execise and has since not been able to play.

The situation gave Ghana Coach Kwesi Appiah no option than to drop the 23-year-old.

Ghana will be hence relying on the likes of Abdul Majeed Waris, Raphael Dwamena, Frank AChemapong and debutant William Owusu.

Emmanuel Boateng was on target in Ghana’s international friendly against Japan.

He has already been tipped to step into the shoes of Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan who is already nearing retirement.
