Jackson scores as the Blues continue to pursue the Champions League

Chelsea defeated Everton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge, maintaining their chances of making it to the UEFA Champions League the following season. In a match where the Blues controlled possession but found it difficult to end the match, Nicolas Jackson's goal in the first half proved to be the difference. With the same amount of games played, Enzo Maresca's team is now two points behind fourth-place Manchester United in the Premier League, in fifth place. As the last few weeks approach, the competition for the top four is still very much open.

After 27 minutes, Chelsea was rewarded for their early domination. Jackson was found on the outside of the box by Enzo Fernández, and the striker turned deftly before putting a low drive past Pickford to make it 1-0. Chelsea held out for a vital victory despite late Everton pressure.
