Three flagrant mistakes, including an odd late own goal, caused Juventus to lose for the first time this season, 4-2 at struggling Sassuolo on Saturday in Serie A. Wojciech Szczęsny of the Bianconeri gave the home team the lead in the 13th minute by failing to make a simple save on a shot from Armand Laurienté. Sassuolo took a 3-2 lead in the 82nd minute thanks to another error from Szczsny, and Juventus added a hilarious own goal in stoppage time.
Szczesny made up for the previous mistake with a spectacular one-handed stop on the free header from a corner from Ruan Tressoldi, palming it off the line. Manuel Locatelli's shot was deflected just wide. However, Sassuolo regained the lead when Matheus Henrique won the ball back in midfield and set up Domenico Berardi to sweep with the inside of the left boot into the far bottom corner.
