La Liga: exodus at Atletico Madrid

Antoine Griezmann's departure from Atletico Madrid is just the latest in a general disbanding of the squad for 2019/20.

Defence is where the most restructuring is needed, following the loss of four pillars of their side from recent seasons. Lucas Hernàndez, Diego Godìn and Juanfràn have already confirmed their exits, and Filipe Luìs - though he hasn't commented - will also move on.

Midfield is likely to be the least hit area of the team.

In attack, Griezmann will leave. Nikola Kalinic, Saùl Niguez and Diego Costa have special situations. All were thought to be close to moving on and the cash generated was to be reinvested.

What's clear is that Atletico's offices will be busy this summer as they look to give Simeone a new starting XI to work with, one that will look to finish second for the third consecutive season in LaLiga, or maybe even higher.
