The striker Alexandre Lacazette scored once more as Lyon defeated Toulouse 2-1 to win its third straight match in the French league. The former Arsenal attacker, 31, scored his 19th league goal since returning to Lyon in the offseason when he converted a penalty in the 34th minute. In the race for a place in the Europa League for the upcoming season, Lyon rose to sixth position.
With his goal, Lacazette has now surpassed Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain and Jonathan David of Lille, both of whom are in action this weekend. Just two minutes after scoring, Lacazette missed a free header, and Lyon's advantage was quickly reversed as Moroccan attacker Zakaria Aboukhlal pounced in the 37th. The winning goal for Lyon came in the 88th minute, just before defender Logan Costa scored an own goal, when midfielder Rayan Cherki, 19, attempted to find Lacazette at the back post.
