With a formal offer of €50 million plus €5 million in bonuses to Liverpool, Napoli has intensified their pursuit of Darwin Núñez.
According to reports, Núñez is a top target for the Italian team, which is keen to sign a new attacker this summer under manager Antonio Conte. Napoli is negotiating with Udinese for a less expensive option in Lorenzo Lucca in addition to their move for the Uruguayan; an offer of about €33–34 million ($38M–39M) with add-ons is on the table. The offer is seen by Liverpool as a crucial deciding factor. Núñez has had a checkered tenure at Anfield after joining in 2022 for a possible €100 million deal from Benfica. Although he has made crucial contributions and displayed moments of brilliance, his lack of consistency and poise in front of goal have kept him from completely integrating into the team.
