English club Liverpool is preparing to make a significant offer to sign Spanish winger Nico Williams, the star of Athletic Bilbao, with a value that could reach 90 million euros, in an attempt to secure his transfer before the start of the 2026 World Cup, where his price is expected to increase further.
The website clarified that Liverpool's management has reopened the file on the player, whom they have been following for a long time, and is now seeking to act before his market value rises. Although Williams' release clause is around 90 million euros, the English club does not wish to pay the full amount and plans to make an initial offer of 75 million euros with some additional incentives.
The Basque club faces a difficult decision between keeping Williams as one of the cornerstones of coach Ernesto Valverde's project or selling him in light of Liverpool's tempting offer.
