Lucas Torreira has lavished praise on Unai Emery and insists the Arsenal manager has played a key role in his rapid ascent since his summer move from Sampdoria.
Torreira, who cost Arsenal £26million, has been outstanding at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield winning adulation for his combative style and composure on the ball.
Little was known about Torreira before his arrival in north London but the Uruguay international revealed there were many clubs after his services and a phone call with Emery helped settle the decision on his future ahead of the World Cup, he told Arsenal’s YouTube channel.
Despite making an instant impact, Arsenal’s player of the month for November admitted he has struggled with certain aspects of living in England and the demands of English football, but praised his coach.
