Lyon moves in closer to Ligue 1 leaders PSG

Lyon thrashes a depleted Saint-Etienne to cut the lead of PSG to two points in Ligue 1. The 5-0 thrashing is an exciting end to the Rhone derby with Tino Kadewere and Marcelo, both scoring twice for the team. Kadewere opened the score for his side in the 16th minute later struck again in the second half at the 68th minute with an assist by Memphis Depay, who saw his free-kick being ruled out as an OG by Denis Bouanga.

Marcelo also struck on either side of the half with a powerful header in the 36th minute with an assist by Leo Dubois and later made the score 3-0 with a free kick in the 59th minute. Lyon is now third on the table and lost the chance to top the league after they lost to Metz surprisingly. Saint Etienne are 16th on the table and avoid the relegation zone by just four points.
