Dani Carvajal underwent ‘successful’ surgery, according to Real Madrid, on the serious right knee injury he suffered last Saturday against Villarreal, which will keep him out of action until next season.
"Our player Dani Carvajal has undergone successful surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and posterior-external instability in his right knee, under the supervision of Real Madrid's Medical Services," the club said on its website.
Carvajal suffered the serious injury last Saturday and, following the timetable, underwent surgery to begin his recovery in the coming days, which could take between eight and ten months.
Following the injury, Real Madrid announced the renewal of the right-back and second club captain for another season, until 30 June 2026.
