Manchester City beat Chelsea 1-0 with an early goal by Julian Alvarez

City, who is vying for the triple, won their 12th straight Premier League match after second-place Arsenal was defeated at Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Jack Grealish, a forward, was asked if City, who trailed Arsenal by eight points in late March, had experienced any sense of invincibility recently. With just one game left, City has seven more points than Arsenal, who have 88 from 36 games. With 43 points, Frank Lampard's faltering Chelsea team is mired in 12th place.

Using an assist from Kyle Walker, Alvarez scored for a City team that was primarily made up of backup players in the 12th minute. Another goal he scored was disallowed for a handball committed in the build-up. The city nevertheless won against Chelsea despite making significant roster changes, demonstrating that they are a well-oiled machine regardless of the components their brilliant manager has to deal with.
