Manchester United face standoff in pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo this summer

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly unwilling to exceed £65 million for the forward, according to The Guardian.

Mbeumo has informed Brentford of his desire to join United, and by late June, Ratcliffe and United's Football Director Jason Wilcox expected the 25-year-old to transfer for around £65 million. Despite initial positive signals from Brentford, the club has now decided to push for a higher fee for their key player.

This shift in stance has met resistance from Ratcliffe and Wilcox, who are determined not to overpay. They remain committed to a cautious and patient approach. On their side, Brentford maintain a firm position: although Mbeumo's contract expires next summer, the club holds an option to extend it by an additional year.

Ratcliffe could increase the offer, but only if United manage to offload several players, including Rashford, Sancho, Malacia, and others.
