Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace is the favorite to join Liverpool

The Merseyside powerhouses have already signed four high-profile additions during their fantastic transfer window: Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong. Alexander Isak of Newcastle United is a striker whom the Reds are aggressively pursuing, but before considering a club-record transfer of the Sweden international, the Magpies are probably going to look for a replacement. The Premier League winners have made finding a new center-back a top priority. The Reds are the front-runners to recruit Guehi, with Chelsea and Newcastle out of the running.

Last summer, Newcastle paid £65 million for Guehi, but that wasn't enough to get him. With one year remaining on his contract, his value will have decreased, but the Magpies have moved on to other targets. Malick Thiaw, a center defender for AC Milan, is close to joining Eddie Howe's team. The opportunity to sign Guehi is open to Arne Slot's team.
