According to a report from RMC Sport, despite the Brazilian winger having agreed personal terms on a five-year deal, Feyenoord have not responded favourably to OM’s latest offer – believed to be in the region of €28m. As things stand, the Dutch club are holding firm, and the deal is at a standstill.
Having hoped for a breakthrough early in the week Marseille now find themselves stuck despite the player’s willingness to join. Paixão impressed in the Eredivisie last season with seven goals and eight assists and has long been admired by OM’s recruitment team yet negotiations reportedly have proven more complex than initially expected.
With a move for Paixão paused, the Ligue 1 club are pushing ahead with other attacking targets. Talks are still ongoing with Juventus for Timothy Weah (25), who has also agreed a five-year contract with OM.
