Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar claimed the incident happened during Marseille and PSG match that led 5 players to leave mid-game. Following the incident, Gonzalez and his family have received death threats after their personal numbers were leaked on social media. Neymar had hit Alvaro on the back of the head in the middle of the game claiming he racially abused him and took to Twitter claiming Alvaro was at fault, PSG has also released a statement backing the player.

Gonzalez responding to the allegations, took to Twitter to deny the comment, and further express Neymar needs to accept the defeat handed by Marseille. The matter is brought forward to the disciplinary committee for resolution.
