Chelsea have revealed that they have agreed to buy Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian, commonly known as Messinho, from Palmeiras. Messinho had been linked with a move to Barcelona, saying it was his "biggest dream" to play for the Catalans, but he will now join the Premier League instead. The 17-year-old has signed a contract that will last until 2033, with Chelsea paying roughly €60 million in total for the winger.
Barcelona's inability to sign the young talent is likely due in large part to the high price tag. His agent, Andre Cury, has frequently discussed a move for Messinho, comparing him to Lionel Messi and Neymar. Cury had publicly declared that Barcelona should sign Messinho, but when he does make the trip to Europe, he will wear Chelsea’s blue jersey.
