Mourinho is delighted with the players

Despite not being able to control the outcome of the current pre-season for Manchester United in its entirety, manager Jose Mourinho is attempting to stay positive despite some setbacks. During this week's training sessions, players Fosu-Mensah and Chris Smalling haven't been able to practice with their teammates due to physical problems. But the coach is looking forward to getting them back to fitness and is delighted with the rest of the squad's attitude.

Talking to MUTV, Mourinho revealed why both Fosu-Mensah and Chris Smalling have not been training with the team: "Fosu-Mensah is not so much injured. But he has this little thing that we want to be careful with given that he is young. He is separate from the group until he is 100 per cent back. Chris Smalling has had a recurrence of an old injury from the previous season," he said. "We shall see what happens, but already he is suspended for the first [Premier League] game against Bournemouth."

Mou also talked about how happy he feels with the squad he has right now: "The players have been fantastic in their attitude," he said. "We have done a number of double training sessions, but I am not worried about them being tired on Saturday as the reality is we have to work and are looking at the [Galatasaray] game as one more training session because the players need minutes - we will need to recover from that too."
