Napoli appears to be the team in the lead for De Bruyne

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano's most recent reports on the deal, Napoli appears to be the team in the lead for De Bruyne. De Bruyne will soon choose his next club, according to Romano. The Italian transfer analyst said on X, "Napoli has made an important contract proposal to KDB — and they would be ready to close the deal any moment from now."

De Bruyne is available on a free transfer for 2025–2026 once his contract with Manchester City expires in June. Romano claims that Chicago Fire, an MLS team, has also sent an offer to the Manchester City legend. Juventus is another team interested in De Bruyne, although unlike their domestic rivals Napoli, the Bianconeri are not in advanced negotiations with the 33-year-old. Matteo Moretto claims that the Bianconeri have spoken with the player's family to find out more about his transfer status.
