Napoli moved a huge 18 points clear at the top of Serie A

At least by Napoli standards, it was a rather low-key event at Stadio Carlo Castellani in Empoli, Italy. It was a very peaceful night in northern Italy considering the fireworks the Partenopei often bring to the pitch. There were two goals, one of them an own goal, and a red card. Ardian Ismajli, an Empoli defender, scored an own goal in the 17th minute, and Victor Osimhen added a second just before halftime.

As a result of Mario Rui's dismissal in the 67th minute for an excessively harsh foul on Francesco Caputo, Napoli was down to 10 men early in the second half, which forced the visitors to play more defensively for the last 20 minutes. As center-back, Kim Min-jae played the entire 90 minutes, collaborating with the rest of the back line to close the space created by Rui's departure.
