Serie A powerhouse Napoli is set to miss out on Udinese's Nehuen Perez this month, despite having previously come extremely close to acquiring the defender. Perez appeared certain to sign with Napoli when it was announced that a sum had been agreed upon by the two Italian teams. However, according to Corriere dello Sport (via CN24), the transaction appears to have stopped and will not proceed.
Leo Ostigard's performance against Lazio is said to have been sufficient to persuade the club to retain the Norwegian this month. Ostigard's decision to stay means that Napoli will be without a spot on their 22-man roster for the remainder of the Serie A campaign. At the end of the window, it will be shown to the Lega Serie A. Because there isn't room, Napoli is unable to sign Perez this month.
