New Zealand secured historic World Cup spot with dominant win

The "Kiwis" eliminated the New Caledonians, who had been the surprise package of Oceania football this season. However, New Caledonia still has a chance, with an intercontinental playoff awaiting them, providing a glimmer of hope to reach their first World Cup in history.

Playing at home, New Zealand claimed its spot as the fifth team to qualify for next year's World Cup. Together with the three co-hosts, who already secured their tickets, they are joined by Japan in the early list of qualifiers. With 43 spots still up for grabs, a total of 48 teams will compete in this historic World Cup.

It wasn't until the second half that New Zealand found a way to break through. A corner taken by Boxall crushed New Caledonia's dreams. Soon after, Barbarouses doubled the Kiwis' lead. Just before the whistle, Just sealed the deal with a final goal, bringing the score to 3-0.
