In the last two South American World Cup qualifiers this Thursday night, Brazil played earlier against Bolivia in the city of Natal. Neymar's leadership was put to the test once again and he didn't disappoint, but the missing piece of the puzzle was finally found in Gabriel Jesus. The Manchester City player is the missing link they needed, that potent striker Brazil craved. Apart from Neymar who is arguably the third best player in the world behind Messi and Ronaldo, Gabriel Jesus proved he is one of the best in his position as well.
The Barcelona forward scored the first goal after a Gabriel generous assist, then Coutinho scored after a Giuliano assist from the right. Not soo late after that, Neymar gave another two beautiful assists, one for Filipe Luis and the last one for Gabriel Jesus who got to score his goal. The match was more than decided before half-time, but Neymar seemed angry because the Bolivian players kicked the hell out of him. Already in the second half, Neymar had to step out of the game after suffering an elbow straight to his eyebrow, he started dripping blood in a scandalous way. The final goal was scored by Firmino during a corner-kick, this Brazil is powerful.
Argentina on the other hand, had a really hard time trying to defeat Peru without Leo Messi who is injured. Juventus striker Paulo Dybala took his place on the right wing and he didn't disappoint, an assist given by him during a corner kick to Funes Mori gave Argentine the lead. But Peru put things difficult through Paolo Guerrero who got the equalizer early in the second half. The rest of the match was a thrilling episode in South American football, Dybala or Aguero needed to appear. But Bauza took both players out, he needed to recover ball possession and gave Banega some minutes.
The decisive moment came from an unlikely player, Manchester City's Pablo Zabaleta assisted Gonzalo Higuain with 15 minutes still to play in the most complicated moment for the Argentina side. But eight minutes from the final whistle, Funes Mori committed a foul on Paolo Guerrero inside the box and gave Peru the chance to get the equalizer through Cristian Cueva who scored fro the spot for the final 2-2 result. This is the second match without Messi and the second straight draw, Paraguay is next in line for Bauza's team.
