Pato's agent still hopes Chelsea to sign him

In a new plot twist to the Alexandre Pato situation, it turns out that the Corinthians president may not be so lucky to get Brazilian Alexandre Pato back on his team next season. It turns out that the players and his agent, Gilmar Veloz, are still waiting for an answer from the Chelsea FC board of directors over the player's future. Apparently, they were told to wait until manager Antonio Conte arrives in London to make a decision on the striker's future.

Talking to Globo Esporte, Gilmar Veloz said: "Pato has already [reportedly] signed with Inter, Sao Paulo, Palmeiras, Flamengo – how is he going to sign when he has a contract with Chelsea until June 30? He has a document there ready for a four-year contract if Chelsea wished to exercise it. I do not know if they are going to, I am not Roman Abramovich. If they decide not to buy him, it will be up to Corinthians to decide what to do. Pato is on holiday waiting on his future."

It's still uncertain what will end up happening with Pato, but he didn't really get that many chances to prove himself while he was training under Dutchman Guus Hiddink. The times he did have a chance to play, on his first try against relegated Aston Villa he scored a brace and gave an assist in a decent performance. However, against Swansea he wasn't able to make a huge impact. That may be the only video proof Conte has to approve of his transfer and he may end up giving him a chance to stay.
