Pepe, the oldest scorer in Champions League history
09.11.23 / 08:19
Pepe has never been a great goalscorer in his career, but that hasn't stopped him from becoming, at 40 years and 254 days, the oldest player to score a goal in the history of the Champions League.
In Porto's 2-0 win over Antwerp, the Portuguese defender headed home at the far post in injury time to seal the win for his side.
In his 116th match in the competition, which he has won on three occasions, Pepe scored only his fourth goal, his first since Real Madrid-Borussia Dortmund in 2012. At the start of his career, he scored two more, back with Porto in 2005/06.
Italian Francesco Totti has been beaten, nine years after he became the oldest scorer in the Champions League when he scored at the age of 38 for Roma against CSKA Moscow.
