It had been quite a long time since we hadn't seen Paulo Henrique Ganso perform at this level, his decision to stay in Brazil during his youngster years were shocking to many but a good decision none the less. Now that he is mature enough to play in Europe, his first game as a starter for Jorge Sampaoli's Sevilla came against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League. He obviously didn't disappoint, proving he is one of the best playmakers Brazil has to offer.
Sampaoli was impressed by Ganso's skills, he told the press that: "During the match Ganso was at his best - he had a very good game after so long without playing. He made good decisions with his final pass. This competition [for places] makes us choose between great players. Without Nasri we thought that Ganso could assume that [playmaker] role. We were very superior. I'm happy to win a Champions League match comprehensively."
The Brazilian comes at a perfect moment for the Brazil national team, who are seriously thinking about calling him up for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Argentina later this month. But Sampaoli was also very happy with the game Escudero offered: "Escudero will draw the attention of the Spanish coach [Julen Lopetegui]. He is producing great performances."
