Schalke is officially relegated after their 1-0 defeat

With Tuesday's loss against  Arminia Bielefeld by 1-0, bottom side Schalke has been relegated from the top flight tournament for the first time in 30 years. With just two wins this season Schalke could not shake themselves from their worst season so far and complete it by being related to 2.Bundesliga next season. This was the 21st loss for the boys in blue and was in contention for the worst run by any club but saved themselves somehow and could not best Tasmania Berlin’s run in 1965-66 where they picked up just 10 points in a season.

It wouldn't be surprising to see their big players on the transfer list now as the organization is reeling under €200 million in debt. It would be hard to believe but Schalke finished second in Bundesliga just three seasons ago.
