Slovakia dispose of Russia with great goals

Amidst all the violent confrontations between the Russian fans and the Hooligans from the isles, a football match didn't seem like the most acceptable thing to do. But Slovakia had to face the Russians and they finally clashed this Wednesday afternoon, the result was a Russian defeat with authentic screamers scored by the Slovakians during the first half. On the second half the Russians gained terrain and came really close to equalizing the game, the Slovakians ran out of gas around the 75th minute but that wasn't enough for the Russians to get back in the game.

The first goal came on the 32nd minute through Vladimir Weiss, who got a cool finish after side-stepping Berezutski and sweeping the ball beyond Akinfeev. Before half time, the second Slovakian goal came, which could already be considered as one of the best goals of this Euro. Skipper Marek Hamsik collected a corner, he cut back onto his right foot and drilled the ball high into the top corner, bouncing in off the post. A truly gorgeous finish which game Slovakia the 2-0 win before the break.

On the second half, the Russians attempted to get back in the game with the Slovakian side clearly exhausted from the first half feats and efforts. They attempted to pull one goal back at all times and played on Slovakia's side during the whole 45 minutes left, after the 70th minute the ball possession was all Russian. On the 80th minute, the goal finally came as Shatov stood up a cross to the back post after a neat one-two and Glushakov headed to the corner. But that goal would not be enough for Russia as they lost the game. The Russian fans were fuming, they lit up fireworks inside the stadium and completely disobeyed UEFA's rules and demands.
