Saints are nearing completion on their deal to sell Carlos Alcaraz to Flamengo, which will bring in about £14 million. They will have the required funds to invest in players before Friday's deadline thanks to the proceeds from the sale. Alberto is another South American talent who they have identified to expand their attacking options. The 23-year-old forward from Brazil may go to England. He has experience playing for Zenit Saint Petersburg in Europe.
Saints have already formally bid to sign Alberto to Corinthians. However, it's unclear if they'll have enough time to finish the move before Friday's deadline. Alberto, who is under contract with the Brazilian Club until 2027, has led Corinthians to 43 goals in 129 games while also assisting in 14 more goals being scored by teammates.
