With players like Koke and Thiago Alcantara in midfield anything is possible, the Bayern Munich midfielder is becoming one of the most important players for Julen Lopetegui. He may be no Xavi or Iniesta, but the things he can do with the ball surpass any expectation, he adds that Brazilian flavor to any play in which he participates. This Saturday he was constantly involved in Spain's attack with Monreal, Aduriz and Vitolo scoring three of the four goals for the squad. The first one was an own goal.
Aduriz became the oldest goal scorer for Spain in a World Cup Qualifier, he told the press that: "One tries to work his best to help the team, sometimes things go better and sometimes they go worse, but the effort is all that matters. Every single goal counts and it's not easy when a squad parks the bus and defend with so many people. It was difficult to score the opener but the three points were necessary. We were missing some very important players but the one we do have are very talented and today we proved we have a fantastic team."
Vitolo who also scored, added: "The first one who loses the ball has to go back and get it. Despite all the goals it's the team the one that proved that despite every absent player, there is people who wants to prove their worth to the manager. He tells is to run, to play with intensity, he tells us to recover the ball as soon as we lose it, his approach works perfectly for everyone. Macedonia had completed two really good games, it wasn't easy and we've proven that we wanted to win the match from the very start."
